Earlier this week, Riot Games developers officially announced the release date of Valorant, which will be June 2nd. Yes, you heard us. June 2nd is the release date of Riot Games’ brand new 5v5 competitive first-person shooter. So here’s everything you need to know before Valorant releases.
Valorant has been in Closed Beta since April 7th, and this will come to an end on May 28th, giving the team at Riot a couple of days to prepare for the beginning of Valorant’s worldwide launch.
A lot has changed since the beginning of the closed beta, from character design to map changes and, of course, many buffs and nerfs to almost everything. The full release of Valorant will also include some brand spanking new content. But let’s just focus on the interesting stuff.
What New Content Will We See?
At launch, Valorant will have a total of 4 maps. This new map actually turns out to be the oldest map Riot has created while developing Valorant. We can only assume from dataminers that the new map will be called “Ascent” and is set in Venice, Italy.
If you have played in Valorant’s practice mode, you might recognise parts of the map. B site is the same layout as the spike plant training in the practice mode.
At launch, we will also get a new gamemode. A lot of players speculated that this would be a deathmatch-style mode, but Valorant developer Jared Berbach quickly responded to a fan, clarifying that the new mode is not deathmatch.
Valorant’s 11th agent is also finally on its way with the official Spanish Valorant Twitter account tweeting out an image of all agents currently in Valorant. If you look towards the bottom right corner, you will see a teaser of the next agent, well kinda..
What Happens When The Closed Beta Ends?
You can start your last Valorant game at 8:59am PT. At 10:30am PT, the servers will be fully offline. All progression will be reset except for what you earned from the Closed Beta player pass. Store purchases will not carry over, but you will get all your Valorant Points back, including an extra 20% for supporting the game.
That’s it! That’s Everything You Need To Know Before Valorant Releases. As the beta comes to an end, we’d like to thank Riot for giving us at Gamezo the chance to play throughout the Closed Beta.
