How To Evolve Eevee In Pokemon Go

Eevee has long been one of the most popular Pokemon, and that is the same in Pokemon Go, too. Eevee is a unique Pokemon in that it can evolve into a host of different Pokemon, giving them the nickname Eeveelutions. In this guide, we will show you how to evolve your Eevee into any Eeveelution in Pokemon Go.

Nickname Determines Evolution

In Pokemon Go, you can guarantee which evolution you get for your Eevee by simply giving it a certain nickname and using the 25 candies to evolve it. Unfortunately, this can only be done once, so once you have one of the evolutions, you will have to use an alternative method below to get another one of the same evolutions. The nicknames are as followed:

  • Vaporeon: Rainer
  • Jolteon: Sparky
  • Flareon: Pyro
  • Espeon: Sakura
  • Umbreon: Tamao
  • Leafeon: Linnea
  • Glaceon: Rea

How To Get Vaporeon, Jolteon & Flareon

Unfortunately, there is no set way to guarantee which evolution you get for these three. After using the nickname trick, all you can do is just evolve Eevee and see which one you get. You will randomly get one of the three, although Flareon seems most common. The good news is Eevee is very common to find, so if you don’t get the one you want, you can try again soon enough.

How To Get Espeon & Umbreon

To get Espeon & Umbreon, the method is different this time but guarantees you get the one you want. To get either Pokemon, you need to have Eevee as your buddy and walk for 10km, then evolve it during the day to get Espeon and at night to get Umbreon. Use the sky in-game to determine whether the game thinks its day or night.

How To Get Leafeon & Glaceon

To get Leafeon & Glaceon, you need to purchase either a Mossy Lure for Leafeon or a Glacial Lure for Glaceon. These cost 200 coin in the in-game store. Then you need to use them at a Pokestop and then evolve your Eevee while still at the Pokestop. You will know if you’ve done this correctly by looking at the silhouette of the Pokemon on the evolve button.
