The Charmander evolution line may just be the most popular in all of Pokemon, loved by both fans and the creators of Pokemon. All of the starters from previous generations were cut from Pokemon Sword & Shield with the exception of Charmander. Unfortunately, though, you can’t just find a Charmander wandering around in the wild, but this guide will show you how to get Charmander in Pokemon Sword & Shield.
Firstly, you need to complete the main portion of the game, gaining all 8 gym badges and defeating Leon to become Pokemon Champion. Once you have done this and the credits roll, you will end up back in your bedroom at your house. Make your way out of your house and head over to Hop’s house just to the right.
Once inside, go up the stairs and into the room on the right, which is Leon’s bedroom, and a Pokeball will be lying on the floor. Inside is a level 5 Charmander.
And there we go. You now have a Charmander. You can’t get any more in the wild, but you can breed this with a Ditto to allow you to have multiple, if you want to trade or have a Charmander, Charmeleon and Charizard in your collection. It also has pretty good IVs (mine had 3 perfect ones) so its definitely one worth keeping in your party.
