League of Legends is a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena), developed and published by Riot Games for PC gaming released in 2009. You play with five teammates, including yourself against another team of five. The main objective is simple. Destroy the enemy base, or “Nexus”.
The difficult part is how you will get there. The main map, “Summoner’s Rift” is split into three lanes, each with three turrets and an “Inhibitor”. Both teams will have minions occupying these lanes and destroying an enemy “Inhibitor” will let your team spawn Super Minions. This will help you to destroy their base faster.
These lanes are separated by the jungle. Monsters occupy this area of the map and killing them can yield powerful buffs. Epic monsters include the Blue Sentinel and Red Brambleback which spawn on both sides of the map. Legendary monsters are even more difficult to kill but can give your entire team game-winning buffs. These include the Elemental Dragons and Baron Nashor.
One of the defining features of League of Legends is the massive roster of champions. At the time of writing, there are 148 champions. It’ll be up to you to find which champion will suit you. You can play as a mage that focuses on casting powerful abilities, a tank that soaks up damage for the team, or a marksman that deals consistent damage from the back lines.
