Olofmeister steps down from Faze lineup

Updated:

Olof ‘olofmeister’ Kajbjer has decided to step down from his position on the lineup of Faze Clan. He will take some time away from the game to recover from fatigue. It’s already his second extended break in two years.

The two-time Major champion announced his decision on Faze’s twitter page. He says that he has recently lost the motivation to play and that he can not represent the organization as he wants to. We don’t know how long the break will last, but last time Olofmeister stepped away from the game, it took two months for him to come back.

In the past few months, Olofmeister has been underperforming. In the star-studded Faze roster, he’s no longer one of the stars, but more of a supportive player. This is a long shot from the player we saw in 2015. Then, with Fnatic, he won back-to-back Majors and received the MVP award at IEM Katowice 2015. Olof went on to be named HLTV’s best player of the year.

Faze has not yet named a replacement for Olofmeister. For the time being, Faze will have the following four players:

Norway Håvard “rain” Nygaard
Bosnia and Herzegovina Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
Brazil Marcelo “coldzera” David
Latvia Helvijs “broky” Saukants

Serbia Janko “YNk” Paunović (coach)
