In their team rebuild, the Washington Justice has picked up Hyeon-Woo “JJANU” Choi. JJanu is an off-tank who formerly played for the Vancouver Titans. Choi was released with the rest of his squad at the height of the player-management tensions. JJanu played with the Titans at the peak of their success when they came in second in the Overwatch League Grand Finals of 2019. This is the second player from the Titans roster to be signed to Justice after the team secured Chung-hee “Stitch” Lee earlier this month.
The Justice has begun a team restructure, both within the roster and outside of it. On May 20th, the Justice announced that it has released both the General Manager of the team, Analynn “Bawlynn” Dang and the Head Coach, Chris “Bani” Benell. Without much explanation aside from the goal “to better equip our competitive team for success”, the two were dropped immediately.
Former player and team captain for the Justice, Corey, commented on the news of their release in a tweet.
damn, if any of you think lynn and bani were the problems on that team then you’re terribly mistaken LOOL

This leads us to imagine whether the management and team issues as a whole gave Corey the extra push to leave his team and pursue a career in Valorant. Regardless of the situation, this is another move in the team restructure for the Justice. Whatever moves the organization makes must be necessary since the team is 19th in the League. That’s only one place above Boston Uprising. Whether or not the plan is to simply buy the entire released Vancouver roster or not, the Justice needs to make some sort of moves to get themselves into a better position in the league.
The Future of Justice
With these new pickups, it also leaves us to imagine that the roster will begin to get too crowded. Will management begin to cut off players who have been under performing in place of these old Titans? It’s also necessary to see how these two will work with the current players. Will the chemistry let Washington pull themselves up from the depths of the league and make a serious impact? We can only wait and see after the May Melee where JJanu will make his full appearance for the squad. Maybe before then, the Justice will make another key pickup to strengthen the team even more.
